A story that inspired and motivated me in becoming a teacher, which is, in fact, a vocation, was “Domnu Trandafir” by Mihail Sadoveanu. As Hubert states: "In order to have a pedagogical vocation, you must demonstrate pedagogical love, faith in social and cultural values, awareness of responsibility towards children, towards the country, towards humanity in general".
Why I chose to become a teacher
My story begins with the desire to change the entire Romanian society, and this change can only be done through education.

As Hubert states: "In order to have a pedagogical vocation, you must demonstrate pedagogical love, faith in social and cultural values, awareness of responsibility towards children, towards the country, towards humanity in general."
Although I am at the beginning of the road and these days I am preparing for the exam that will allow me the access to the education system, I want to share with you some of my educational experiences, I have had throughout my life, which led me to choose this road.
The first memory I have from the educational institutional framework, a memory that is very likely to have affected my personality at a fairly high level, is that when I was in the first grade, I received a slap so violent that projected me on the blackboard, for an exercise I didn't knew how to solve in math. It did not seem normal for such teachers to exist in the education system, but unfortunately this is the reality.
The memories do not stop here, the negative patterns of behavior did not stop there.
In middle school I had uninvolved teachers, teachers who came drunk to class, verbally aggressive teachers, even physically.
In high school I came across another type of teacher. Teachers who constantly offended us by nicknames such as: "illiterate, stupid, etc.", teachers who made sexual allusions to colleagues, teachers not involved where the main ability we had to prove was mechanical reproduction.
They did not bother for a second to improve their pedagogical skills so as to change our behavior, implicitly and our personality, in accordance with the market requirements, to inspire and develop our creativity and entrepreneurial spirit.
To not mention only the empty part of the glass, I will also mention models of teachers with vocation and dedicated to the profession, and I hope to rise to their level.
My 3rd and 4th grade teacher, Geornoiu Daniela, was and will remain a role model, who is now also the principal of a rural school, where she works wonders.
My math teacher and class master, Matahala Dumitru, from whom I still know the mathematics taught by him many, many years ago.
Most of the professors at the University of Pitesti, professors who tried to develop our abilities, skills, attitudes and skills useful in the teaching career.
But the education system needs to be helped not only by dedicated teachers, but also by various non-governmental organizations. And for me, the Univers put Silvia and the ProXpert association in my way, a beautiful character, who does an amazing job through her volunteer actions in the educational field, but also in many other fields, and with whom I carried out some actions in the interest of disadvantaged children.
Silvia was and is one of the reasons why I know that I have to contribute to the change that needs and will come.
One of these actions is the one carried out at the school in Pesceana, where over 20 students received a backpack equipped with everything necessary for the educational activity and T-shirts so necessary for sports activities.
I know that it is not much and that the needs are great, but we are motivated by the thought that for a few moments we brought a smile on the faces of the future. Such actions will continue, and I hope that in the future they will determine them to take such actions, to pay it forward.
Being among those children, seeing the joy in their eyes, the happiness I felt strengthened in my conviction, once again, that the path I chose to follow is the right one. The child in me will always take care not to forget what it means to be a child, and I will always pay attention to the needs, possibilities and rhythm of development of each and every child/student.
