"What do you think of today's society?", "What gives you hope for the future of humanity and the earth?", "If you could make a wish, what would you wish for your country?": These are the questions to which people from all countries respond within this story. Each person, with his or her own cultural and social background, gives their own vision which, together with the others, constitutes a mosaic of different ideas but united by the desire for positive change.
Why this story is important
This story tells how, although coming from different countries and contexts, all people have an idea about the society in which they live, a desire on how to improve it. Nobody lives unattached from it, each or every one would like to contribute to improving it and every desire is born from everyone's personal experience, but is in close connection with the community and everything that revolves around the life of the individual.
How this story was created
The story was created within the European project Enhance Civic Competences Through Sorytelilng, Erasmus Plus KA1 Youth, by an international group, with people from Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Spain and Poland. The inspiration came from the "seven billion others" project by Yann Arthus Bertrand. It was decided to take inspiration from this video and then reproduce it in a social key: what are our thoughts on society? How can we improve it? What would we like to change? The idea was, precisely, to create "a union of differences", many different visions united by the desire for change.
The methodology used was that of the participated video: there was a collective elaboration from the beginning to the end, in particular in the way of conceiving the narration and conceiving the questions, which were articulated through a process of brainstorming and collective evaluation. The video was then shot with different roles for each person (cameraman, interviewer, subject filmed).
