A short fragment of the story

When I go to the front door next door, I always try to remember her name “Freihube”, but I don’t succeed. We start talking, I stop in front of her window when she greets me and we chat. About this and that. About the weather. About the roses in the front garden. She helps me find my way around the neighbourhood with practical tips. Soon we talk about our small grandchildren. She gives me tips for the garden, asks if she should help water my front garden. She offers me cuttings from her garden. I am still a beginner, grateful for her advice, and she asks me if I would like to come to the family coffee party at the church …
