YoMem - Young Messengers of European Memory
Moomins and what they symbolise for me
A short fragment of the story

Diversity is what makes life worthwhile. Learning makes life matter and enriches it beyond anything I could have ever dreamed. But after that poem in French, which tells of my loneliness and feeling othered and European in a more and more jingoistic place, there is some Polish. I started to learn because I got the chance to travel, meet and learn again in a place I had never been. This for me is a symbol of hope. I am so very grateful to be here and to have been asked to come with Real Time to Poland and to be part of the legacy of Europe. The lovely Moomins on the cover of my book help me to feel that despite no longer living in a country which is part of the European Union, these beautiful characters are keeping me company as I try to keep learning and process the loss of something so important to me.
