Why this story is important
The active training methods (defending by the associations of CEMEA all over the world) allow a real social transformation, of individuals and groups. Returning to training means accepting to look inside yourself, to assess yourself and give the best of yourself for yourself, it is to bet on emancipation.
How this story was created
The video was created at the end of the first day of training to become a professional animator (called in France "professional certificate for youth, sports and popular education"). The trainees had to take stock of the most significant moments of their lives, then reflect on their expectations for training: what are my desires? my fears ? the individual and collective skills that I want to develop? This reflection first took the form of a written letter (sender: the trainee at the start of his training in December 2019 - recipient: the same trainee at the end of his training in December 2020). Then the volunteers could film themselves at home talking to themselves.
References
The training approach, and the format of the video is directly inspired by a web-series produced by Irvin Anneix, French director. He has worked with many teenagers, which caters to themselves in ten years.

The training approach is also based on an autobiographical and active methods called "Story in History".
